BOY SCOUTS

"The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes, by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Law." Despite what one may read in today's media, not much has changed in the 104 years of the Boy Scouts of America. Tying knots and going camping are both great things to do and know, but that's the program to keep Scouts engaged, not the result of a life’s journey of the Scout Oath and Law.

The Knights of Columbus have a history of chartering units that is almost as old as the BSA itself. "Why?" one might ask. Both are organizations with service to others as a core value, both require a belief in God for membership, and both exist for the promotion of ethical and moral choices.
